Hi, I’m Fi

I’m not a scientist. I’m not a climate expert. I’m just someone who started paying attention and realised small changes really do add up.

Fi Leaves was created to make sustainability feel calmer, simpler, and far more realistic for everyday life.

My climate wake-up call

In 2018, after watching David Attenborough’s Blue Planet II Documentary, I had what I now call my climate wake-up call.

You know that moment when something suddenly clicks, and you cannot quite unsee it? It was a bit like that.

I just kept thinking:

“What can I do? I’m just one person?”

At first, I felt overwhelmed. Sustainability seemed full of complicated language, conflicting advice, and people who appeared to have completely zero-waste lives, while I was still wondering what to recycle.

But instead of switching off, I started learning.

Real life sustainability

I started making small changes at home and in my business. Some worked brilliantly. Some absolutely did not.

I’ve tried eco swaps, changed habits, reduced waste, researched recycling, questioned what I buy and learned a huge amount along the way.

No perfection. No preaching. Just honest progress.

Because sustainability does not have to mean living off-grid and making your own toothpaste.

It can simply mean making slightly better choices, more often.

Visiting ethical elephant sanctuaries in Thailand reminded me how connected sustainability really is.

Where the business side began

As I learned more, I realised many small businesses wanted to do better too, but often had no idea where to start.

So I began exploring sustainability properly through CSR-A accreditation and practical business sustainability training.

What surprised me most was realising I was already doing lots of positive things without even noticing

That journey completely changed the direction of my business and eventually led to Fi Leaves.

Why Fi Leaves exists

Fi Leaves exists to make sustainability feel more achievable, less overwhelming and far more human.

I still learn new things every week. I still make mistakes. I still care deeply about getting better.

And that is exactly the message I want other people to hear too.

You do not need to do everything perfectly. You just need to start somewhere.
